Tripura : Nearly 217 Kms Of Roadways To Be Included Under ‘Bharatmala 2.0’ Project; Says Union Minister – Nitin Gadkari

Agartala, August 08, 2022 : Altogether, 217 KMs of road in Tripura will be included under the ‘Bharatmala 2.0’ project, said union minister of Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Monday after the courtesy meeting of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha at New Delhi.

Dr Saha in presence of Tripura BJP ‘Prabhari’ and MP Vinod Sonkar met with union minister of Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Monday.

During the courtesy meet, union minister of state for Road, Transport and Highways, General Vijay Kumar Singh was also present along with officials of the ministry and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL).

Taking to social media handles, Tripura CM wrote “A very fruitful meeting was held today with Hon’ble Minister of Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari ji and Hon’ble Minister of State of this Ministry General Vijay Kumar Singh ji for National Highway and Road Development Project in Tripura.”

Dr Saha said that the union minister Gadkari also directed the officials of the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways and NHIDCL, 148 KMs long length of Kamalpur-Ambassa-Gandacherra-Amarpur road, 44 KMs long length of Udaipur-Sonamura-Comilla road and 25 KMs long Agartala city bypass west road should be included under ‘Bharatmala 2.0’ project.

The union minister further directed the commencement of work on the Agartala-Teliamura section of NH-08 to four lanes and National Highway up to Khowai-Teliamura-Amarpur-Sabroom.

“Gadkari also approved a scheme of Rs 200 crore from the ‘Central Road Infrastructure Fund for Construction’ for construction of paved bridges and cement concrete roads in the state”, said Dr Saha in social media handles.

Apart from this, Tripura CM Dr Saha, who also holds the president’s post of the Pradesh BJP also met with BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda at Sansad Bhavan in New Delhi and informed him about the various organizational issues of the party.

Moreover, Dr Saha also met with BJP national general secretary (organization) BL Santosh and discussed the organizational issues of the party.
