Agartala, August 08, 2022 : Tripura’s former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday is happy to see that the state youths are becoming self-reliant and saying publicly that they are engaged in selling of ‘Jhal Muri’ and ‘betel leaf’.
The positive results yielded after the BJP-led coalition government formed in Tripura which inspired the youths with the concept of self-reliance and Kishore Majumder of Charilam under Sepahijala district is an instance of becoming self-reliant through his ‘betel-leaf’ shop.
After having a sweet ‘betel leaf’ from Kishore’s shop, former CM Deb told reporters that “A mentality of becoming self-reliant has developed among the youths of Tripura and the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see the country as a nation of self-reliance is coming true.”
“However, I am not saying anything against government employees or service holders, there is a need for employment to run the administration. But youths whosoever is having any degree of education qualification should have a way of becoming self-reliant”, he added.
Deb said “I have told the youths’ way back in 2018 for setting up at least a betel leaf shop in order to generate income instead of sitting at home waiting for a government job. Here is a glorifying instance of a youth named Kishore Majumder, he had set up a shop selling betel leaf in 2019 by borrowing a loan of Rs 10,000 under Panchayat scheme. Now he earns about Rs 14,000 per month”.
Urging the youths to get engaged with any work after completion of education, the former CM said “Tripura government has opened abundance of windows to earn their livelihood, initiatives like ease of doing business, simplification of rules, introduction of GST, facilities in the field of rubber, paddy, etc were taken.”
