The Assam Police in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel has confiscated a large stash of fake gold items from Nagaon District and apprehended an offender, in connection with the incident.
Based on specific inputs, the Officer in-Charge (O/C) of Nagaon Police Station – Inspector Manoj Rajbongshi along with ASI Babul Borah, TSI, Nagaon PS; CRPF personnel and PS staff launched a joint operation; which led to the recovery of 18 pieces of fake gold articles weighing 33 kgs 800 gms from the possession of the offender.
The offender has been identified as – Ohed Ali (25), a resident of Katimari Grant in Nagaon.
Taking to Twitter, the Nagaon Police on Sunday wrote “Today Insp. Manoj Rajbongshi, O/C, Nagaon PS, along with ASI Babul Borah, TSI, Nagaon PS, CRPF personnel and PS staff apprehended one person namely Ohed Ali, 25 yrs, S/O Lt. Ahmad Ali of No. 2 Sunapur, PS Bihpuria, Dist Lakhimpur, from Katimari Grant, Nagaon.”
