The Health Minister of Arunachal Pradesh – Alo Libang on Wednesday assured the assembly that jobs of over 600 non-technical employees working in various vertical programmes of the health and family welfare department would be regularized in a phased-manner.
Responding to a short duration discussion on the ‘pathetic condition’ of 683 non-technical staff working in various vertical programmes, Libang informed that regularization of those employees was not possible at one go due to financial constraints.
The discussion had been initiated by BJP MLA Hayeng Mangfi.
According to Libang, the state administration established a committee in 2021, headed by the chief secretary, which has already commenced functioning; Libang stated.
Expressing his opinions on the subject, Mangfi claimed that the staff concerned was employed by several vertical programmes without a scope for getting regular employment opportunities in the future.
He highlighted that despite having all the necessary credentials, numerous employees have served for more than 20 years without being regularized.
Mangfi asserted that the state government must frame a policy to gradually regularize them in a phased manner.
Taking part in the discussion, senior BJP member Nyatoi Dukam said that the government should seriously think about the matter.
The majority of the house members agreed with the issue and urged the government to find a long-term resolution to help the employees.
Assuring the legislators that the jobs of the non-technical employees would be regularized in a phased manner, Libang said that the government is serious about securing their future.
