Altogether 13 militants belonging to two proscribed outfits today surrendered with their firearms before the Manipur Chief Minister – N Biren Singh; during the Homecoming Ceremony held at 1st MR in Imphal.
The surrendered insurgents include 12 of the Kangleipak Communist Party-People’s War Group (KCP-PWG) and one from the Kanglei Yawol Kanba Lup (KYKL).
Meanwhile, two lathode guns, three 9mm pistols, three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two detonators, two radio sets, five letter heads and four extortion letter from KCP(MC) has also been surrendered before the Manipur CM.
Taking to social media platforms, the Manipur CM wrote “With peace prevailing in the state under the guidance of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, various cadres from different militant outfits have joined the mainstream. I appeal all the underground outfits to come to dialogue table and peaceful resolution. As Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah Ji stated, not a single bullet will be fired and not a single FIR will be lodged.”
