As part of the on-going observation of ‘Cleanliness Week 2022’ in Kolasib district, members of the Kawnpui Town Sanitation Committee today conducted a visit to the Solid Waste Management Centre at Kolasib.
The Sanitation team was headed by the District Urban Development Officer – C. Lalmuan Puia. He was accompanied to the site by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) – John LT Sanga; Rebecca Laldinmawii Hrahsel, SDO(C) of Kawnpui and Mr. Hmingthanzuala, DIPRO, Kolasib.
Demonstration on the protocol and working procedure maintained at Solid Waste Management Centre was also carried out, where it was mentioned that the working efficiency of the Centre was still greatly hampered by the failure of waste segregation at the household level.
