The President – Droupadi Murmu today arrived in Tripura for her two-days official visit, as part of her maiden visit to northeast, amid high-security arrangements.
She arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala on 11:15 AM; and was received by the Tripura Governor – SN Arya, Chief Minister – Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Union Minister of State (MoS) – Pratima Bhoumik, Chief Secretary – JK Sinha and Director General of Police (DGP) – Amitabh Ranjan.
The Hon’ble President has also received Guard of Honour presented by an exclusive Women contingent of Tripura Police.

Besides, the President has also inaugurated the Tripura State Judicial Academy and laid the foundation-stone for the National Law University at Narsingarh, 11 KMs away from Agartala city.

Thereafter, she also attended a special function organized at the Durgabari Tea Garden & Tea Processing Factory; and interacted with the tea workers about the benefits being provided to them under Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalpa & central schemes.

The President is scheduled to virtually inaugurate the MLA Hostel in Capital Complex and lay the foundation-stone for multi-storied buildings at Pundit Nehru Complex, road upgradation projects under Northeast Special Infrastructure Fund and North-East Road Sector Development Scheme.
Meanwhile, Droupadi Murmu is also scheduled to inaugurate six new school buildings, hostel for school students, IIIT Building and Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya Museum & Cultural Centre located at the 105-years-old Pushpabanta Palace at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan.
She will also be given a civic reception by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) at Town Hall in the evening; in the presence of Chief Minister – Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Mayor – Dipak Majundar, cabinet ministers, MLAs and delegates from different organizations and trade bodies.
The President is also scheduled to flag-off Guwahati to Kolkata Express upto Agartala and extension of Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala-Jan Shatabdi Express upto Khongsang (Manipur) with new LHB rake and Vistadome Coach on October 13. She will also offer puja at Tripura Sundari Temple before leaving for Guwahati.
