A days-long ‘District Level Yuva Utsav (Youth Festival) 2022’ was held today at the Community Hall of Gyalshing.
Organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra in Gyalshing under the aegis of Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports; this programme aimed to celebrate the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” in the spirit of Yuva Shakti and developed a brotherhood among young artists, authors, photographers and orators of the nation under the mentorship of experts.
The SIDICO Chairman – Janak Gurung graced the event as its Chief Guest; while the Chairman of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) – Hari Narayan Subedi attended the event as its ‘Guest of Honour’ and Additional Political Secretary to HCM West – Madhu Sudan Sharma was the Special Guest of the programme.
Among the guests attending the programme were the President of Gyalshing Nagar Panchayat – Devendra Prasad Sharma, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Gyalshing – Bijay Kumar Subba.
During the event, Young Writers Camp-Poem, Young Artists Camp-Painting, Mobile Photography, Declamation Contest and Cultural fest were among the competition were also conducted.
Addressing the occasion, the SIDICO Chairman expressed gratitude towards the Nehru Yuva Kendra for organizing the event and creating a platform for young people.
He then mentioned that India will reached the centenary of its independence in the year 2047, therefore to meet the target of India at 2047 the youngsters have to take the responsibility of carrying the Nation forward.
“The young people need to be prepared to make a contribution in each and every field and they have such opportunity to transform the country. The sense of professionalism should be focused in education sector, it is therefore probably a key factor to move towards development,” – he stated.
