The Oil India Limited (OIL) and five leading universities of the Northeast have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards create meaningful industry-academia collaboration.
Taking to Twitter, the official account of OIL India Limited wrote “Landmark step by #OilIndiaLimited towards creating meaningful #IndustryAcademia #Collaboration under OIL Centre of Excellence for Energy Studies by signing MoUs with 5 leading #Universities of the #Northeast.”
“The MoUs with Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Manipur University, Nagaland University & Rajiv Gandhi University are to boost R&D capabilities, understanding of the geology of NE, create skilled professionals, and jointly work towards Energy Security of the Nation.Dr Ranjit Rath, CMD along with other Functional Directors, RCE and senior representatives of the universities graced the MoU signing ceremony at #Duliajan.” – it further added.

According to an official press release issued by the Central Public-Sector Undertaking (PSU), the main objective of signing this MoU is to boost research and development capabilities in the universities and enhance the understanding of the region’s geology, create skilled professionals, and jointly work towards Energy Security of the nation.
The agreement was signed with Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Manipur University, Nagaland University and Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) at the Field Headquarters in Assam’s Duliajan, on Wednesday.
