HSP Holds ‘Jan Sansad’; Adopt Unanimous Resolution To Implement ILP System In Sikkim

Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) today held its ‘Jan Sansad’, which was attended by more than 100 people from all walks of life, including representatives from more than 20 organizations.

Some of the most prominent attendees at the Jan Sansad included Mr. D.B. Chauhan, president of Bhartiya Janta Party, Mr. Tsheten Tashi Bhutia, convenor of Sikkim Bhutia Lepcha Apex Committee and the chief patron of Sikkim Nagrik Samaj, Mr. P.K. Pradhan former chief secretary, Mr. Kazeeman Chettri former bureaucrat, Mr. K.B. Rai, president of Sikkim Republican Party, Mr. Balbir Tamang president of Sikkim Gorkha Jagran Sangh, Mr. Kedarnath Tiwari president of Jai Kisan Andolan, Ms. Mayalmit Lepcha from the Sikkim Indigenous Lepcha Tribal Association, Lhendup Bhutia, general secretary of Sikkimese Mulniwasi Suraksha Sangh, Mr. Joel Gurung of SYFFG, Mr. Ongdi Pintso Bhutia of All Sikkim Monk, Mr. K.C. Denzongpa of SAATO, and Mr. Pempo Dorjee Lepcha of Sikkim Nagrik Samaj.

The Jan Sansad culminated with the historic adoption of a unanimous resolution demanding the implementation of an Inner-Line Permit (ILP) in Sikkim. Everyone who participated in the Jan Sansad raised the demand to implement an ILP.

The participants also stressed that the Sikkim Government should pass a resolution to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) system and hand it over to the central government.

Meanwhile, the President of the Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) – Bhaichung Bhutia said that the party would continue to fight for the ILP until its adoption in Sikkim.

Bhutia also charted-out the future course of action for the Hamro Sikkim Party. He added that the party would reach out to every Sikkimese through a ‘yatra’ to spread awareness about the ILP.

He mentioned that the resolution would be passed to the Chief Minister of Sikkim and the Union Home Minister.

The HSP President also requested the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ensure smooth and hassle-free adoption of the resolution in the Sikkim assembly.

He hoped that the Union Minister of Home Affairs & Cooperation – Amit Shah would fulfill our united demand for an ILP.

The Jan Sansad witnessed a commendable turnout and set an example as a unique people-centric event.

Besides, the people have expressed their opinions in huge support of an ILP. HSP Party expressed hope that the state and central governments act in good faith and adopt an ILP for the brighter future of a better Sikkim.
