The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) have reaffirmed its appeal to the masses of Eastern Nagaland to refrain from participating in any election process initiated by the state and central government, until & unless demand for a separate statehood – “Frontier Nagaland” is fulfilled.

Following lack of response from the state government, the organization has now demanded the resignation of 20 legislators of Eastern Nagaland from Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

This decision has been undertaken, following an extensive meeting held at Tuensang’s Chang Khulei Setshand Hall on October 14 to reiterate its August 26, 2022 resolution.

Its worthy to note that the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) recently organized its first phase of its agitation in the form of a public walkathon; reiterating its demand for a “Frontier Nagaland” state.

This walkathon was conducted in support of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO)’s demand for a separate “Frontier Nagaland” state in all the tribal headquarters, administrative headquarters and sub-divisions in eastern Nagaland.

Meanwhile, the federation have also backed the August 26 resolution adopted by the ENPO, in order to abstain from taking part in elections until the demand gets fulfilled. The public walkathon was held across all the administrative headquarters, i.e., – Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Noklak, Kiphire and Shamator; which falls within the domain of Eastern Nagaland.

The 7 tribal federating units of ENSF – Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS), Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU), Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), Tikhir Students’ Union (TSU), United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) and Yimkhiung Akheru Arihako (YAA); and 63 “orchestrated clusters” consisting of 451 subordinate student bodies also participated in the walkathon.

Besides, the ENSF asserted that “people from all walks of life, including leaders of civil societies, church, village elders and the public also participated in the walkathon”.
