The Secretary of Assam Cricket Association (ACA) – Devajit Saikia has been appointed as the new Joint Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday.
Saikia was elected unopposed, during the board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai on October 18.
According to reports, Tridip Konwar is likely to assume the vacant post of ACA secretary.
The World Cup winner – Roger Binny was appointed as the head of India’s cricket board, replacing Sourav Ganguly. Binny, 67, was elected president of BCCI, whereas secretary Jay Shah won another term in office.
Apart from Saikia, the other office bearers who were elected unopposed includes – treasurer Ashish Shelar, and vice-president Rajeev Shukla.
