Agartala, October 22, 2022 : With barely four months left for the assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday indicated that the largest political party left its door open for any political party to talk about democratic changes but not for the alliance.
Addressing a press conference at BJP state headquarters here in Agartala city on Saturday afternoon, Pradesh BJP vice-president Dr Ashok Sinha said that the door of the saffron party is open for everybody and every political party can approach them for talks as it is a part of democratic process.
Being asked whether TIPRA Motha be a factor in the election in 2023, Sinha said “In any election, every candidate is a factor. In democracy, every candidate is important. Doors for everybody are open to us. Every political party can talk to us. In democratic process, we respect that. There is always use in talking.”
“We did not discuss TIPRA Motha in our ‘Chintan Shibir’ meeting. We have no headache for Motha. We have a headache for implementation of our policy and while implementing our policy, we don’t feel the need of anyone else supporting us. We are sufficiently confident, we will fight the election alone with the team that we have now. So we did not consider anything. If anybody is willing to join us, they are welcome to talk to us. But a decision will be taken in Delhi”, he said.
In the “Chintan Shibir”, it has been decided that there will be no alliance with the party called TIPRA Motha and at the same time, doors are open for every political party including Motha, he said “Doors open for talk, they will decide to talk on what topic.”
It is worthy to mention here that the “Chintan Shibir” was chaired by BJP national general secretary BL Santhosh in September last.
Dr Sinha said that the leader of opposition Manik Sarkar had accepted that their strength had declined and now wanted all secular democratic forces to come under one platform to fight in the forthcoming assembly election.
“If the Congress leaders and workers feel that they are willing to join hands with CPIM, who had killed their seniors, they may go and this is nothing to worry situation for us, rather we will enjoy it. If they come together, it’s fine and there will be lots of fun. They have done the same in West Bengal and what is the consequence, everyone is well aware of it”, he added.
He said “We will go to the people with the works we have done for them in our five-year tenure. We will explain everything to the common people. If people find us positive then definitely BJP’s representatives will be elected and form government again in Tripura.”
