President – Droupadi Murmu Likely To Visit Sikkim On November 4

The President Droupadi Murmu will pay her first visit to Sikkim on November 4, after assuming office.

During her trip to the tiny Himalayan state, Murmu will take part in a number of official programmes in Gangtok, and is tentatively scheduled to go to South Sikkim on her way back to New Delhi.

According to official sources, after her arrival from Mizoram on November 4, the President will be inaugurating and lay the foundation stones of numerous roads and institutes. A major highlight of the programme will be the inauguration of the newly-constructed double-lane traffic tunnel on National Highway-10.

It is worth noting that the President will pay a two-day visit to Nagaland from November 2-3, which will be her second visit to the northeastern state after assuming office. She will attend a series of events in Kohima and the state government will accord her a civic reception at the Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima on November 2.

The Nagaland Home Commissioner – Abhijit Sinha has requested various tribal bodies to attend the event. Besides, a cultural programme followed by a state banquet will be organized at the Chief Minister’s residential complex later on November 2.
