Sikkim: Union Minister – Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh Visits Pakyong District; Discusses Issues Related To Health & Education Sector

The Union Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs and Education – Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, visited various venues of Pakyong District, falling under Rongli Block on Tuesday.

On his second-day visit to Sikkim, the Union Minister called on the citizens of Pakyong and comprehensively discussed various issues related to health, socio-economic, education sector, etc.

He highlighted various schemes introduced by the PM and urged the public to cooperate and acknowledge the concerned schemes.

Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh continued his day with an inspection at the Pakyong Greenfield Airport, followed by his visit to the Pacheykhani temple in Pacheykhani.

The Union Minister also visited Rongli Sec school, followed by Chujachen Sr. Sec School. He also interacted with the Heads of Institutes, teachers, students, and the public.

The Union Minister was accompanied by Area MLA Gnathang-Machong- Shri D T Lepcha, Area MLA Gangtok- Y T Lepcha, District Collector Pakyong- Tashi Chophel, SP Pakyong- Karma Gyamtso Bhutia, SDM (HQ) Pakyong- Thendup Lepcha, SDM Rongli- DS Subba, CEO Pakyong- AD Chettri, SDPO Pakyong, BDO Regu, District HoDs, Police personnel, Panchayats, concerned Govt officials and the general public.

Later on the day, the Union Minister also visited 4th Mile Junior High School in Gangtok.

Addressing the students, the Union Minister stressed the PM’s vision of teaching and learning native languages in order to safeguard the history and culture of the State. He suggested giving due importance to the Lepcha language, considered to be one of the indigenous languages of the State.

Besides, the Union Minister also encouraged students to participate in interactive sessions with skilled people to develop interests and hobbies.
