Additional Director General of Border Roads Organization (BRO) – PKH Singh, VSM, on Wednesday called on the Sikkim Chief Minister – Prem Singh Tamang, at his official residence in Mintokgang.
During the meeting, the CM enquired about the status of projects across various regions of Sikkim and discussed matters related to GATI Shakti and Bharat Mala projects.
The dignitaries also discussed several issues related to the condition of roads and directed the concerned officials to expedite their maintenance. Besides, the CM expressed his gratitude towards BRO and assured to work collaboratively for the overall benefit of Sikkim. The Chief Secretary, GOS, Shri V.B Pathak, was also present in the meeting.
In the meantime, the Minister of Roads and Bridges – Samdup Lepcha, held a series of meetings on Tuesday to discuss the road conditions of Sikkim.
The meeting deliberated on the road conditions in Sikkim under GREF, including the Chanbari Road and the Rorathang Road, among others.
During the meeting, the Minister directed the concerned officials to maintain, upgrade, construct, and repair the works at the earliest. He instructed the officials to explore possibilities of technical aspects in contemporary operating modules to ensure long-term road quality.
The meeting was attended by Mr. PKH Singh, VSM, ADG BR (East); Brig Naveen Ahlawat, Chief Engineer, Project Swastik (BRO); and Lt Col Kritant Bhusan.
