The Spokesperson of BJP Mizoram Pradesh – K Laldinthara, deliberated on the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) in Mizoram.

K Laldinthara stated, “It is unfortunate that the current government does not fairly initiate the scheme but instead awarded party workers with the money coming from the Central Ministry. Thus, majority of the selected beneficiaries have yet to receive the money to construct their homes.”

He further accused the state government of fund misappropriation sanctioned under PMAY for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

Furthermore, the Spokesperson also expressed his regret that when a Central Minister recently visited the state, the Minister was apprised that only 40% of funds is sanctioned.

He appealed to the state government to release the remaining 60% of the sanctioned amount to the selected beneficiaries of PMAY.
