In view of the violation of law & order situation at Lamhai Namdi Village and adjoining areas and to prevent loss of human life and property, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Peren – Vineet Kumar, IAS today imposed Section 144 CrPC along the Chumukedima-Peren border belt.
According to an official statement, the DC has prohibited the assembly of more than 5 persons and carrying of any lethal weapons and arms in the disputed village. However, the security personnel on duty and medical emergency services are exempted from the purview of this order.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police – Rothihu Tetseo, IPS, has also enforced Section 144 along various regions of the border belt.
The administration has also prohibited the assembly of not more than 5 persons, carrying lethal weapons and firearms, including lathis, daggers/machete, sticks, spears, catapults or any other dangerous articles in the highway stretch from Vihuto Village-Khehoyi Village-Kiyevi Village and along the Chumukedima-Peren Border Belt.
“This order shall come into effect from November 7th, 2022 and shall remain enforced until further order,” the order continued.
