Agartala, November 07, 2022: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the convenor of NEDA (North-East Democratic Alliance) on Monday confirmed that Bharatiya Janata Party will re-establish government in Tripura capturing atleast 55 assembly seats in the forthcoming assembly election of 2023.
Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party organized “Booth Bijoy Abhiyan” (Booth Victory Campaign) on Monday noon at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan which is being attended by elected representatives of every level starting parliament, assembly and Shakti Kendras (cluster of booths).
Addressing the gathering, Assam CM Dr Sarma said “Literally ‘Booth Bijay Abhiyan’ has started, but according to me, the task of re-establishing the BJP government in 2023 has already started. The situation before 2018 and present day is having a gulf of differences. During the last assembly election, I have seen offices located within 200 to 300 metres of Leftists. No work for the people’s welfare was done before 2018 and there was fear amongst all.”
“When I came to Tripura for the first time, I visited Mata Tripureshwari Temple and asked the Goddess when this fiery situation will end? Get rid of CPIM- is the lone slogan of people before 2018 as CPIM depicts the picture of violence, unemployment, underdevelopment and dark Tripura. With the blessings of Maa Tripureshwari, people were relieved from the misrule of CPIM and with the blessing and affection of common people, today Tripura is ushering newer heights of progress and peace prevailing”, he added.
He said “At the present day, India and Tripura along with the North Eastern region had reached new altitudes of development. No one had any imagination of abrogation of article 370 from Kashmir, no one imagined the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, no one had imagined that the NE region would become ‘Astalakshmi’ of India. There has been a miracle under the leadership of PM Modi as NE received a new identity. Today, one can boldly say that he or she is hailing from the northeast. Earlier, people in the mainland of the country were unaware of north eastern states. At present, people across the country are well aware about NE states as PM Modi is visiting this region again and again and talks about the people in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’. In five years, multiple developments have been witnessed by the people which include IIIT, National Forensic Science University, National Law University, etc. CPIM has been in power for a long period, which they have done. The communists focused on setting up of syndicates and torture people bringing at police stations. Today, Tripura has a direction to proceed towards development.”
Citing a comparison between BJP and CPIM in Tripura and strength of saffron party in blooming Lotus flower once again, NEDA’s convenor said “Today, you people have so big leaders like CM Dr Manik Saha, MP Biplab Kumar Deb, MoS Pratima Bhoumik, Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma, Pradesh BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee and so on. What does the CPIM has? They have only one face who is old enough to move in all directions. CPIM is projecting him only as there is no new face. See the strength of booth committees of BJP. Such a strength is not there in any political party except BJP. I am 100 percent confirm that BJP will win once again in the NE region and the government will again form in Tripura with atleast 55 seats and there’s no doubt in that as because, I have come here and noticed the progressive changes being initiated by the present government. I could feel the strength of karyakartas, who will lead us to victory and help to win 55 seats.”
He urged the karyakartas and elected representatives to work with full dedication, this party is ours, Tripura is ours, India is also ours. India has to be strengthened with the strengthening of Tripura.
Appealing to the karyakartas, Dr Sarma said “For the next three months, tell your families that now, you don’t have time for your own family as it’s time to work for the bigger family. Till February next, no risk can be taken. Till the last vote is casted in the election, the ‘Sankalp Yatra’ which started from today will continue till the day of election and strengthen the hands of PM Modi.”
In this programme, Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Tripura BJP election prabhari Dr Mahendra Singh, NE Coordinator Dr Sambit Patra, union minister of state Pratima Bhoumik, Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, Lok Sabha MP Rebati Tripura, and Tripura’s organizational in-charge Phanindranath Sarma also shared the dais with the Assam CM Dr Sarma.
