India Records No COVID-19 Fatalities In 24 Hours; First Time Since March 2020

The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) declared that India, on Tuesday, witnessed a single-day rise of 625 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest since April 9, 2020. However, the state has not reported any fatality within 24 hours since March 2020.

According to the MoHFW data updated on 8 AM, the country’s infection tally has climbed to 4,46,62,141, while the active cases have declined to 14,021. The death toll has remained at 5,30,509. India reported 540 cases on April 9, 2020.

The active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total cases, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.78 percent.

Besides, the recovery tally surged to 4,41,17,611, while the fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent.

Altogether, 219.74 crore doses of Covid vaccines administered in the country under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.
