Agartala, November 08, 2022: The Radhanagar Battalion of the 21st Sector Assam Rifles in Tripura under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organized a one-day long Specialist Medical camp for BRU refugee people at Ultachehra area under Dhalai District on Tuesday.
The Commandant and Chief Medical Officer of the Radhanagar Battalion inaugurated the medical camp. This camp was organized in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare department, Dhalai district, government of Tripura and Prohaba, an non-governmental organization (NGO).
A total of 552 BRU refugee people were screened and given free consultation along with free medicines during the camp while HIV tests for 10 individuals were also carried out wherein all results were negative.
The objective of the camp was to provide free medicine, medical advice and refer them for specialized treatment or surgery if required. Doctors have also carried out basic medical checks of all refugees.
Rehabilitation centre’s chief and all the refugee people have expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their generous contribution in smooth rehabilitation of the BRU refugees.
