The Lunglei Police in association with the District Special Branch (DSB) seized heroin worth over Rs 8 Crores from Lungei District.

Based on specific inputs, the security forces launched an operation at Pukpui. During the raid, around 1.747 kgs of heroin worth over Rs 8 Crores were recovered from the possession of two drug peddlers.

The offenders have been identified as – Khupkhankual (25) and Haudeihchin (25), both hailing from Champhai Vengthar Tlangnuam.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the accused individuals under the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
