Mizoram Governor Interacts With Officials Of Mamit; Reviews Implementation Of Developmental Projects

The Mizoram Governor – Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, arrived at Mamit this afternoon for his two day long official tour of the aspirational district.

During the visit, the Governor interacted with the officials, bankers, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), church leaders, and the representatives of political parties at the Deputy Commissioner (DC’s) Office in Mamit.

The Deputy Commissioner – Lalnunhlua, chaired the proceeding of the reception program of the visiting head of state. The constituent MLA – H.Lalzirliana, who is also Vice Chairman of Road & Infrastructure Development Board also participated in this function.

The Mamit DC emphasized the developmental activities initiated under the aspirational district program.

He urged the bankers and the officials to generate awareness on centrally sponsored welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Mudra Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), etc.

The Governor appealed the officials to speed up the initiatives being taken under schemes like PMAY(U), PMAY(R), Jal Jeevan Mission, PMJVK, PMGSY, etc.

He stressed the importance of getting responsibility for the implementation of various developmental activities under the aspirational district program, and reminded the officials that “Mamit remains to fare poorly in a key sector like education and that improvements are needed to be made urgently in these sectors.”

The Governor advised the officials to focus on the details of parameters that are hampering the rankings of the Aspirational Districts.
