Nagaland: Table-Top Exercise On Earthquake Scenario Held At Jalukie

The Table Top Exercise on Earthquake Scenario was held at ADC Office in Jalukie Town on November 14. The meeting was chaired by SDO (C) of Peren – Meyazungba Jamir.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Peren – Vineet Kumar noted that the Mock Exercise, scheduled to be held on November 17 is a preparedness exercise that aims to create awareness among the stakeholders and general public on how to manage and respond at times of disaster.

He added that “most disasters usually occur abruptly without any signs or warning and the only solution is to develop or devise a preparedness plan.”

Furthermore, the DC urged the district Head of Departments (HoDs) of line departments to extend their full cooperation and also execute their assigned duties responsibly.

Meanwhile, the DPA (DDMA) of Peren – Kedigong highlighted about the Incident Response System (IRS), roles and responsibilities of IRS teams, and the earthquake scenario.

He also informed that the main staging area for the mock exercise would be set up at GHSS Ground in Jalukie town and the sites identified for the exercise will be at Christian Hr. Sec. School, ITMS, St. Xavier College, Residential areas, and Market areas.
