In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles today recovered 69 cases of foreign origin Liquor along with beer fermentation chemical worth over Rs 2 lakhs at Zokhawthar Junction IB-III of Champhai district.

Based on specific inputs, the operation was carried out by a joint team of 8th and 42nd Assam Rifles. During search operation, the paramilitary troop recovered the items, which were dumped in General Area Zokhawthar junction.

Meanwhile, the seized items were handed over to the Excise & Narcotics Department of Champhai for further legal proceedings.
