A state-wide event to spread awareness and to prevent the spread of HIV/Aids in Mizoram – ‘Zoram Harh Rawh Campaign’, was held in Kolasib district today.
It was jointly organized by the Office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kolasib, District AIDS Prevention & Control Committee and Sub-Headquarters YMA, Kolasib.
The function was graced by the legislator & Vice-Chairman of Commerce & Industrial Board – K. Laldawngliana at Parish Hall in Venglai, Kolasib.
During the awareness campaign, a presentation was also delivered on the transmission and prevention of HIV. It was conducted by the Mobile Counsellor of ICTC – Lalmuanawmi with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Dr. Lalawmpuia Chhangte, highlighting the present scenario of HIV/AIDS prevalance in Kolasib district.
She pointing out that there is 1.98% positive case detected from 85,096 blood samples, collected throughout October 2002-2022. The campaign incorporates – song writing competition, cultural dance and singing competition, inviting participants from various YMA branch of Kolasib district.
