The Mangan Police arrested two persons for attempting to sexually assault a 27-year-old woman in the Pentok region in the Mangan district.

According to police reports, “the victim was returning from the neighbor’s house after attending a wedding ceremony late at night, and one unknown person offered to drop her back to the house. As the victim was intoxicated, the unknown person drove her to a remote location near the old Hospital Quarter in Pentok, and sexually assaulted her.”

Reports mentioned that there was another man at that place who also tried to sexually assault her, but somehow she managed to escape from him.

During the investigation, the victim girl was medically examined at District Hospital Mangan. A thorough search operation, was carried out in and around Pentok Area, where the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused. After intensified search operation, both the accused have surrendered and booked under section 376 IPC.
