The Mizoram Governor – Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati joined the nationwide celebration of the Constitution Day 2022, during a solemn function was held at the Raj Bhavan in Mizoram this forenoon.
During this function, the Governor led the mass reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India.
It is worth noting that the ‘Constitution Day’ also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas’, is celebrated annually on November 26 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949, which came into effect from January 26, 1950.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone of an effigy of Dr BR Ambedkar on 2015. To commemorate the occasion, November 26 is celebrated annually as Constitution Day.
Based on the theme ‘India : The Mother of Democracy’, the day aims to raise awareness about the Indian Constitution and honour its architects.
In this connection, every citizen is invited to participate in online reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India in 22 official languages and English (readpreamble.nic.in). The citizens are also invited to participate in Online Quiz on India – The Mother of Democracy (constitution.nic.in).
