The Joint Secretary of Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) – Anuradha S. Chagti reached Labing under Tashiding Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) and jointly inaugurated the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Centre at Labing, with the Area MLA-cum Deputy Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA) – Sangay Lepcha.

It was attended by the Advisor of Ecclesiastical Department – R. S Bhutia, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gyalshing – Yishey D Yongda, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Yuksam – T. T Bhutia, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Chongrang – Garap Dorjee Bhutia, panchayat members, district officials and general Public of Labing.

The ICDS centre has been constructed with NEC funding (Backward Block Development at the estimated cost of Rs 9,27,000/-. Similarly, five other ICDS buildings within the block have been erected under the NEC funding.

Meanwhile, the Joint Secretary visited the hamlets selected under the SAMBHAV Mission Mode Programme and initiated an on-ground assessment of the access and quality of the services.

She also visited farmer beneficiaries who attained benefits from the schemes, such as – Milching Cows distribution, Poultry Farming and Apiculture.

Thereafter, a visit was also made by the team to the Primary Health Centre where diagnostic machines have been installed funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC).
