The Manipur Chief Minister – N. Biren Singh inaugurated the two-day-long National Seminar-cum-Workshop on “Sustainable Agriculture & Organic Farming: Health Hazards of Agro-Chemicals use in Food Production” on Wednesday at Court Hall of Manipur University.
Jointly organized by the Department of Economics, Manipur University & All Manipur Progressive Framers’ Association; this workshop aims to emphasize the significance to develop the chemical-free farming practices across the northeastern state.
The workshop has been sponsored by the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MUMA); Mission Organic Value Chain Development for Northern Eastern Region(MOVCDNER) & the Directorate of Environment & Climate Change in collaboration with Central Agricultural University (CAU) Imphal; Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) – RC NEHR, Manipur Centre, Imphal; Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) & Department of Fisheries and Directorate of Health Services.
Taking to Twitter, the Manipur CM wrote “Inaugurated the National Seminar cum Workshop on Sustainable Agriculture and Organic Farming at MU.
