Arunachal Pradesh, July 07, 2023: Excitement fills the air as Arunachal Pradesh gears up to host the highly anticipated 5th Junior Boys National Boxing Championship from July 9 to 14. The prestigious event will take place at the renowned Don Bosco College ground, marking a significant milestone for the state.
The Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) expressed its sincere gratitude to the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) for bestowing upon them the opportunity to organize this national-level tournament. It is a moment of great pride for Arunachal Pradesh to be the host.
Teli Kahi, the general secretary of AABA, highlighted the immense importance of the event, emphasizing that it is the first-ever national-level tournament of this magnitude in the northeastern state. The championship holds great promise for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh, providing them with a remarkable platform to showcase their skills and talents.
Biri Chattum, the vice president of AABA, underlined the positive impact this championship will have on the young aspiring boxers of Arunachal Pradesh. It not only encourages their growth and development but also inspires them to strive for excellence in the sport.
The event will witness the participation of more than 500 boxers from 26 states across the country. Recently, on Thursday, the Sports & Youth Affairs Secretary Abu Tayeng, Arunachal Olympic Association Secretary General Bamang Tago, and others handed over the Boxing Sandos to Team Arunachal, further fueling the excitement and anticipation surrounding the upcoming championship.
