Guwahati, July 15, 2023: A horrifying case of suspected homicidal poisoning has emerged in Rupohihat, a town located in Assam’s Nagaon district. The victim, identified as Fatema Khatun, tragically lost her life after consuming a drink that was allegedly spiked by her own husband and in-laws.

According to sources, Fatema was offered a juice by her husband and in-laws, unaware that it had been tampered with in a sinister attempt to end her life. Shortly after consuming the drink, she fell seriously ill. Despite her repeated complaints and deteriorating condition, she was rushed to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for urgent medical intervention. Tragically, all efforts to save her proved futile, and she passed away while receiving treatment.

In a distressing revelation before her untimely demise, Fatema confided in doctors about the spiked drink she had been offered by her husband, which resulted in her sudden illness. She further implicated her in-laws in this alleged conspiracy.

The motive behind this heinous act remains unclear and is currently under investigation.

Meanwhile, the parents of the deceased woman have taken swift action by filing a formal complaint against her husband and his family.

Local authorities have initiated an official probe into the matter, aiming to uncover the truth behind this shocking crime.
