Guwahati, July 18, 2023: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik on Monday emphasized the crucial role of the Red Cross Society in catering to the pressing needs of vulnerable sections within the state.
During the annual general meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) held virtually and chaired by Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Lt Gen Parnaik called for the active involvement of the Red Cross in addressing the challenges faced by children with special needs, the destitute, and orphans.
As the president of the state branch of IRCS, Lt Gen Parnaik further emphasized the importance of planning both short and long-term initiatives for the Red Cross’s activities in Arunachal Pradesh. He also advocated for strengthening the Red Cross branch and encouraging the active participation of the youth in humanitarian endeavors.
To promote a culture of compassion and responsibility, the governor proposed connecting school, college, and university students with the Red Cross movement. This step aims to create a positive impact on society and ensure that vulnerable individuals receive the necessary support and care they deserve.
