Arunachal Pradesh: Prohibitory Orders Imposed In Itanagar Amidst Planned Dharma

Guwahati, August 07, 2023: Arunachal Pradesh administration imposes Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Itanagar’s capital on August 7, following social activist Sol Dodum’s announcement of a peaceful dharma at Tennis Court from Monday onwards.

The District Magistrate, Itanagar issued a notice stating, “No permission has been obtained from the Deputy Commissioner, Capital Itanagar for the proposed dharma at Tennis Court, Itanagar.”

The notification further states, “Sudden information of conduct of dharna at Tennis Court may create nuisance and breach of the public peace.”
