Agartala, August 07, 2023: Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha expressed his confidence in the victory of BJP candidates in the forthcoming by-elections in two assembly constituencies in the state. Speaking at a party program in Agartala on Sunday afternoon, he stated that the BJP is well-prepared for the by-elections, ensuring triumph in both seats.
In a recent development, GR Ravindra Raju has been appointed as the organizational general secretary of BJP Tripura and Assam Pradesh, succeeding former organization General Secretary Phanindranath Sharma. The newly appointed general secretary was felicitated by the Tripura Pradesh BJP during a ceremony attended by prominent leaders and officials.

During a party’s event held at the conference hall of Nazrul Kalakshetra, the Chief Minister acknowledged the significant contributions of the outgoing organizational secretary, Phanindranath Sharma, who had been overseeing the state’s organization since 2017. He praised Sharma’s dedication and hard work, which played a vital role in the BJP’s success in the region.
The Chief Minister also expressed optimism about the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming by-elections, asserting that the party’s candidates will secure resounding victories. Furthermore, he predicted that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidates would garner more votes in the state’s two seats compared to the 2019 elections.
Despite the opposition parties forming alliances, including the Congress and CPIM, the Chief Minister downplayed their united efforts, highlighting internal divisions and disagreements among them. He raised doubts about their ability to win together and emphasized the strength of the BJP’s position in the state.
At last, Dr Saha mentioned his plans to utilize his experience gained in Tripura in his new role in Haryana. The event was attended by leaders from various parts of the state, along with ministers and legislators, showcasing the party’s unity and support.
CM Dr Saha was accompanied by union minister of state Pratima Bhoumik, party’s state president Rajib Bhattacharjee former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and others were present in the event organized at the conference hall of Nazrul Kalakshetra in the capital city Agartala.
