In a great move to empower and engage the youth in the electoral process, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the establishment of at least one polling station per district in the five poll-bound states of Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana and ordered it to be exclusively managed by the polling teams consisting of youngest eligible employees of each respective district .

As per statistics , in these five states, approximately 2.6% of the electorate comprises young individuals .
