A shocking incident took place in Assam’s Dhemaji on October 26 in which a dilapidated bamboo bridge collapsed injuring several school students who were crossing the river via the bridge.

Reportedly,the incident took place in Chahbari in Dhemaji district .

A group of school bound students were about to cross the bridge when it collapsed.The locals rushed to the spot to rescue the students after they heard the sound of students screaming, yelling out for help.

A total of 20 students were injured , 5 among which are in serious condition, as per reports.

It is informed that all the injured students have been referred to Dhemaji Civil Hospital for immediate medical attention.
