BSF Launches Special Operation, Seizes Narcotics Worth Over Rs 17 Lakh in Tripura

Agartala, December 11, 2023: In a determined effort to curb the rising menace of narcotics and contraband smuggling, the troops of BSF Tripura Frontier initiated a special operation on Sunday in the Srimantapur area. The operation yielded significant results, with the seizure of 1,550 Yaba tablets valued at Rs 7,75,000.

In parallel operations conducted at various locations, the BSF successfully confiscated Eskuf cough syrup, Phensedyl, brown sugar, and other illicit items. The combined value of the seized contraband reached an estimated Rs 10,11,290.

The BSF’s commitment to tackling border smuggling on the Indo-Bangladesh international border is evident in these operations. The force is actively engaged in addressing the narcotics issue in the state of Tripura, aiming to transform it into a narcotics-free region. The recent operations underscore the BSF’s relentless efforts to secure the borders and protect the citizens from the detrimental effects of illegal substances.

The seizures not only disrupt the supply chains of smugglers but also contribute to the larger goal of creating a safer and drug-free environment in the state.
