Arunachal CM Khandu Inaugurates Newly Formed Bichom District

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, in a historic moment, inaugurated the newly formed Bichom district, carved out of West Kameng and East Kameng, marking a significant milestone for the region.

The inauguration ceremony also reportedly included the laying of the foundation for the district headquarters at Napangphung.

During the event, Chief Minister Khandu symbolically handed over the National Flag, along with the respective flag bearing DC and SP logos, signifying the transfer of responsibilities for the new district to DC Ms Akriti Sagar and SP Shri Sudhanshu Dhama, as per reports.

Notably, the presence of distinguished guests, including Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju and various MLAs, added grandeur to the occasion.

It has to be mentioned here that the creation of the Bichom district addresses a longstanding demand that dates back to 1984.

Moreover, Chief Minister Khandu expressed gratitude to the dynamic role played by Shri Natung and Shri Pordung, as well as the collaboration with the people of East Kameng, Nyishi Elite Society, East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organization, and others in making this vision a reality.

Acknowledging the diversity of voices within the community, Chief Minister Khandu emphasized the commitment to comprehensive and inclusive growth for all residents of the newly formed district.

The event marked a momentous step towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people and fostering unity and development in the region.
