The Secretary of the UT of NSCN-IM has ordered an immediate shutdown of all nightclubs, pubs, and discos within the UT jurisdiction.

The decision comes in the wake of numerous complaints from the public and various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) regarding the late-night operations of these establishments.

The Secretary of UT, NSCN/GPRN, in a press release, voiced concerns about underage girls allegedly involved in immoral activities with married men and non-local businessmen for money at these venues.

The UT office also issued a stern warning against drug peddling and the sale of banned substances within its jurisdiction, attributing the rise in drug use among young Naga youths to the easy availability of these substances.

Strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in the sale or distribution of banned substances/drugs, the press release stated.

The UT Office also advised its staff to consult its Office regarding any work within UT jurisdiction, warning that any staff member involved in untoward incidents within the jurisdiction would face strict disciplinary action.
