Mizoram Triumphs With 3 Golds, 1 Silver, And 4 Excellence Awards At IndiaSkills 2024

In a remarkable display of talent and skill, the northeastern state of Mizoram has left an indelible mark at the IndiaSkills Competition 2024 held in New Delhi from May 15-19, 2024.

Securing a total of 4 medals and 4 Medallions of Excellence, Mizoram’s contingent has made the state proud.

The medal winners from Mizoram are: Gold Medalists: Maximus Lalruatkima – Floristry, Vanlalbiakdiki – Shoe Making, Emily V.L. Thakimi – Fashion Technology; Silver Medalist: Anthony Lalchhanhima – Drone Filmmaking; Medallions of Excellence: Laltlanzovi – Hairdressing, Vanlalhriatchhungi – Beauty Therapy, Liansangrem – Plumbing & Heating, Lallawmkima – Electrical Installation.

Among the gold medalists, Maximus Lalruatkima in Floristry and Emily V.L. Thakimi in Fashion Technology have earned the prestigious opportunity to represent India at the upcoming WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, scheduled for September this year.

The IndiaSkills 2024 competition, which saw participation from over 900 students representing 30 states and Union territories across 61 different skill areas, highlighted the nation’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting skill development.

Skill Development Secretary Atul Kumar Tiwari, who inaugurated the opening ceremony, emphasized the importance of such competitions in bridging the gap between industry requirements and the skills of the youth.

With the guidance of top industry trainers, the winners of IndiaSkills will now embark on rigorous training sessions to prepare for the global stage at the WorldSkills Competition.

This event, which will feature 1,500 competitors from over 70 countries, aims to underscore the pivotal role of skill development in the progress and development of nations.
