Arunachal’s Hoksum Ori Conferred Honorary Doctorate Award By Chicago Open University

In a prestigious ceremony, Chicago Open University, USA, conferred an honorary doctorate award in Public Welfare to Miss Hoksum Ori, recognizing her outstanding contributions to women empowerment, child welfare, and community development.

The award, recommended by the Academic Council Committee, acknowledges Ori’s remarkable achievements and dedication to public service. This honor adds to her previous awards, including the India Leader Award and the Bharat Samman Nidhi Puraskar Award 2024.

Ori, daughter of late Marshok Ori, began her career as a junior teacher before dedicating herself full-time to social and community causes. She has held various roles, including Member of State Women Commission, former ZPM in Panchayat Raj, and portfolios in non-governmental organizations.

Expressing gratitude, Ori credited her family and parental guidance for her journey. She stated that the honorary degree will inspire her to serve society better and encourage women to carve their niche.
