Congress MP from Assam, Gaurav Gogoi, launched a scathing attack on Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, accusing him of failing to take moral responsibility for the recent train accidents.
Gogoi criticized Vaishnaw for not resigning despite the increasing number of train accidents, including four goods train derailments in the last two months that resulted in 14 deaths and several injuries.
The Congress MP also mocked Vaishnaw as the “Reel Minister” and “Derailment Minister” for his alleged focus on making social media reels instead of addressing the serious issue of train safety.
Gogoi’s remarks came after Vaishnaw’s statement in Parliament, which the Congress MP found unsatisfactory, leading to a walkout by the INDIA alliance parties.
Gogoi emphasized that the BJP’s refusal to take responsibility for failures is a worrying trend, citing the example of last year’s Balasore accident that claimed 300 lives.
