Imphal, August 1: The NEET PG Centre, scheduled for August 11, has been reinstated in Imphal. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh expressed his gratitude to Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for this decision. Singh took to X to acknowledge Nadda’s support, stating, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Shri JP Nadda ji for reinstating the NEET-PG 2024 exam centre in Imphal.”

“This crucial decision will enable students from the state to take the exam locally, significantly easing their path to academic and professional success”, the Chief Minister said.

The reinstatement comes after Imphal was initially excluded from the list of test centers by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The Chief Minister had previously communicated to the Union Health Minister about the ongoing unrest in Manipur, noting improvements despite the challenges. The exclusion posed difficulties for local students due to restricted travel and high costs associated with out-of-state centers.
