Assam, Aug 5: The 74th death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi was observed at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra today with the ‘Lok Kalyan Divas’ program. This event, organized by the state government, is held annually to honor Bordoloi’s legacy and contributions as Assam’s first Chief Minister.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented the Karmashree Award and the Lokseva Award to various state government officers and employees. The Karmashree Award is given for exceptional administrative service, while the Lokseva Award recognizes significant contributions to public welfare.
The awards aim to acknowledge and celebrate achievements in public service and governance, reflecting the values promoted by Bordoloi. The event was attended by several dignitaries and officials, underscoring the continued recognition of Bordoloi’s impact on the state.
