The Sikkim Olympic Association and various sports associations have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister for allocating funds in the 2024-25 budget for sports development in the state.

The government’s objective is to achieve “Sunaulo and Samridhi” Sikkim through a participatory approach, and the associations have welcomed this initiative.

The budget allocation includes funds for grants to sports associations, incentives to athletes, and stipends for district sports academies. Additionally, two state-of-the-art sports academies, named after Olympians Tarundeep Rai and Jaslal Pradhan, will be constructed.
