The indefinite bandh called by the Rongmei Naga Council Manipur Ntay Phay Luangrian (RNCM-NTL) has been suspended following an agreement reached between Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and the leaders of the agitators.

The bandh, which began at midnight on August 18, led to the shutdown of NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road), Tongjei Maril Road (Bishnupur-Khoupum-Rengpang Road), and the Leimatak Loktak Project. The protesters were demanding an Alternative Arrangement for Administrative Convenience for Noney District, specifically for minority Naga tribes living in the foothills of Kangpokpi and Churachandpur Districts.

The resolution was achieved during a joint meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, held at 9:30 pm on Tuesday, with the participation of the agitators’ leaders, including the Chief Association of the region.
