Shillong, Aug 28: Angelia N Marweiñ, a 24-year-old Political Science graduate, has been selected to represent Meghalaya at the prestigious Femina Miss India 2024 pageant.
Angelia, who is pursuing her Post Graduation degree while balancing modelling contracts, brings a unique perspective to the competition. Her background in social work and commitment to community service make her a strong contender.
“I am incredibly honoured to represent Meghalaya in the upcoming Femina Miss India 2024 pageant,” Angelia said. “This is a dream come true for me, and it’s a privilege to showcase not just my personal journey, but also the rich culture and heritage of my home state.”
Angelia is a strong advocate for women’s rights and gender equality, with a Masters dissertation on the “Maitshaphrang Movement” exploring its role in gender equality within Khasi society.
She is focused on her preparation, working on every aspect, from grooming to understanding the essence of what it means to be Miss India. Angelia’s diverse interests, including music, dance, and athletics, contribute to her well-rounded personality.
The winner of Femina Miss India 2024 will represent India at the 73rd edition of the Miss World pageant. Angelia expressed her aspirations to use the platform to bring attention to important issues affecting her community, including education, women’s empowerment, and cultural preservation.
