Security forces conducted extensive search operations in Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts on Friday, recovering a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
In Kangpokpi district, at Ekou Mulam, security forces found one bolt action rifle, one improvised projectile launcher, eight live ammunition rounds, one improvised mortar, two live projectiles, one 12-inch live cartridge, and one ammunition pouch.
Meanwhile, in Imphal East’s Changsang Hill, authorities recovered one single-barrel (locally made) firearm, thirty-seven country-made magazines, six Pompi (locally made guns), fifteen live rounds of ammunition, three WP smoke grenades, two tear smoke cells, three radio sets, two tube launchers, one Pompi ammunition made from bamboo, thirty-seven fired cases, and one detonator.
In a separate operation in Leimaram, Bishnupur District, security personnel seized one SLR with a magazine, one .303 rifle, two live ammunition rounds, seven grenades, two tube launchers, one grenade arming ring, one walkie-talkie set with a charger, two stun grenades (tear smoke), and other miscellaneous items.
These operations are part of the ongoing efforts by security forces to curb illegal activities and maintain peace in the region.
