IMD Predicts Very Heavy Rainfall In Northeast, Flood Situation Worsens

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several states, including Meghalaya, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, on Monday.

The states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Gujarat are already reeling under floods after heavy rainfall lashed several districts.

Cyclone ASNA has weakened into a deep depression over the Arabian Sea, with the IMD predicting it will weaken further into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 6 hours.

In the Northeast Region, isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over Assam and Meghalaya, while isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh during the next 7 days.
